Spray On Bedliners

I have a 06 Dbl cab tundra. I recently installed a spray on liner by LINE-X. The problem I see is that the latch to open tail gate to the bed does not open very smooth. Has any one experienced this before?

How many people are familiar with linex, will they fix a probem like this?

Truck is no older then a week...

A big problem.

I am having the same experience, although mine is compounded by my soft cover also. I had a linex liner and my gate instantly took a turn for the worse and does not close as well as it used to. Now I put a soft cover on and the padding interferes with it also and the gate is really shody. I am not sure how to correct the problem. I do know that it sucks. I can't stand not having a smooth opening hatch and it is not a problem that the dealer will want to deal with since it is aftermarket. Not sure what to do myself. Let me know what you find out.
Actually, mine doesn't open like it should..........which caused it not to close like it should. Making it difficult to shut and leading to me slamming the gate.
Good News.......a hands on approach

After seeing your post I did some work myself. I called my linex dealer and he said it would be a few days to get me in. Well, I can't wait because my gate is starting to get dimples from slamming it. So I searched a few forum's that said you can adjust the gate. I took off the access panel and found my problem. When my linex guy sprayed the bed he got linex on the two steel rods that go to the locking mechanism. It was causeing the gate release to stick. I peeled off the linex between the rods and some plastic guides and bam! That baby will close easy. Take it into your own hands and have fun. .........oh yeah you will need a t40 hex head (looks like a star*)

I had mine Line Xes right away to. In about a week after purchase. Mine works perfectly. You should call the Line Xguy and give him a chance to take care of it. make sure that you tell him that it worked right before he did the lining.
Spray on bed liner

my linex dealer said to take off the black bumper pad that are on the bed to eliminate the problem. I really didnt care for that answer but i took am off for the time being.

Could you show a picture of the rods you are talking about, only if you can. My email is [email protected] .

Just wondering, whats is the price out there in TN for a spray on. I also added the optional UV protector.
Midwest born and raised

I am actually in Iowa. I initially (2 months ago) took off my rubber stops, but now I have them back on. I didn't want to take mine off either.

I couldn't take a picture, but if you remove the access panel you will not be able to miss the mechanism. It is the only thing in there. Here is a picture of the access panel on the taigate. http://www2.line-x.com/ns/PhotoGallery.html?now=73461

Once you remove the 8 star bolts the access panel can be removed. Then linkages connect the handle to the latches on each side of the tailgate. If the linkages were sprayed by accident then the handle will stick open or closed or both. If this is not the problem I would take it to you dealer and have him shave it down. It probably took a total of 5 minutes to fix.
I guess my link did not quite work. If you fold down the gate it is the only thing that can be removed. My dealer did not spray over the bolts, he sprayed the panel seperate. Probably what caused the problem.
