at autox events ive seen a lot of people using little spray bottles to spray water onto their tires inbetween runs. whats the purpose of this? to cool the tires down?

 Maybe they're gonna do burnouts to heat em up?
no one did burnouts though

it wasnt like a lot of water it was a little spray bottle like when you spray windex, it was like a mist
maybe the water was sprayed onto the brake rotors to cool them down?
lol if they'd spray water onto the brake rotors to cool them down, it would cause them to warp!
uhm, its to get loose dirt and stuff off the tires so they dont go slip sliding around. Like the water area at the track
hahahhaahahahahaha...

It's a chemical that they spray to make their tires "tacky" and really sticky. I think it may be VHT.

its not water its called tire softener..
or VHT but VHT is commonly used in drag racing... To apply VHT you would need to do this 2 to 3days before the event...

The most likely candidate would be tire softener because you spray it on a couple days before and then 30minutes before each session...
ah..... see it was just a bottle of fluid so it looked like water to me
