does anyone know if any newer camry (92 +) springs fit the 88-91????? i noticed that the front springs are larger than the back... i have a set of springs that came off my friends 02 honda civic and they look similar but idk if they fit... just want to find out any info on the size/demension of the camry springs...

thinking of getting another se of OEM camry springs and cutting one coil off but affraid it will not work the way i want it too or drive the same...

Or i can just get some spring tesioners form autozone and intalling htem on my springs to see how low i can gt them without lossing the stability of the stock springs...

any thoughts of whats best for this prjoect???:lurk:

Definitely don't swap springs from another car on to your Camry unless you really know what you are doing.

What are your goals for the car? How low do you want it? What do you want to use the car for?

yeah it was just a thought of fitting other springs on it...

just want to make my car appear lower then stock height.. mainly the tire space it has in the front.. the back not much cause when i drop my sub box back in it kinda lowers the back a little...

im looking for a 1.4 drop in the front and 1.3 in the back... not too low where i will be scraping the bottom of my chassis like i do on my 91 DA haha

its my daily driver just want to make it look nice... im looking to repaint it soon ive already dropped in air filter, grounding kit, sound system, 16" rims, i swaped in some lexus es250 strut bar and motor strut in..just ordered some 6000k hi/lo hids, and looking to get a trunk lip spoiler.. and some tint would be nice as well, still looking what else to drop in it.. so the springs or lowering kit is what im looking to do next..

not really looking to make it a ricer car but just to enhance the performance and handling a little.. and make it enjoyable to drive =]

will show some pix soon just need to load it up on my cpu so standy by!!

ohh and i also swapped in a cluster with a tach.. which i learned how to do form reading another forum.. pretty easy btw and very inexpensive to do... looks good and works great =]..
but since i did that my mph gauge is off by 5 miles but cCARES it dont bother me!!!
Mine is off by 5 mph too
I guessing from "turning back" odometer before it have been sold to the previous owner [with low 55000 mi back in 1995:)

HIDs...bad, bad idea unless you're doing a total replacement of the housing to something with a clear front (or getting rid of the flutes on the stock assembly..pita). I've been there and "almost" did that. I returned the HID kit I got (long time ago) because of what I learned here. Our headlamp assemblies are horrible for HID output. Get some good quality bulbs with as many lumens as you can find (nothing with a blue tint) and maybe upgrade the wiring for less/no voltage drop. I use PIAA GTX Plasma (I think that's what they are called) that I got for next to nothing off Ebay brand new. They are very white and very bright. And no, I'm not saying PIAA bulbs are the best lol

Hope I could be of some help.

I pretty much already answered this in your other thread - Don't even go there. Stop thinking about that. NO!

If you can find them, Intrax (now discontinued) and B&G both have springs for the gen2 Camry. The extra weight of the V6 will weigh down the front a bit, but a stereo in the trunk will even things out...

My body kit will only go on sale if I find a wings west original. I will look into getting copies made if people are interested.

wings west made a kit for the 2nd gen??? post some pix i would like to see...

please make a new mold for the bumpers!! would love to have one!!!
my body kit is a copy of the wings west original. My copy is made by erebuni corp. They are based out of New York. I bought the last one and when I offered to buy the mold they refused to sell it too me. So basically if anyone wants a kit for a gen 2 I might be the last person left to talk to. i'm pretty busy but I will try to get around to finding out how much making a new mold would cost. I'll keep the forums posted.
please make one!!!! haha ill even pitch in to make the mold!!! as long as i get a decent price on a copy..

before ordering those find out from the seller where that item is manufactured and what type of materials is it manufactured with. Your life is worth more than a 100 buck buy it now item. Do some research on them compared to a company like say ground control. Make sure that they can provide some legit documentation on the manufacturer or even a website of the manufacturer.
Very true im glad u said something wanagan. I just contacted the seller for these on the subjects you listed.. hopefull i recieve good info.. but i will make sure as soon as i hear i will post it here. Because I do race and alot of technicial driving on the weekends.

Some of us tuners in my local area have tuner trains.. where we get 20-30 people all goin in a train across town... and i do take some difficult turns... im just on a very strict budget. im sure you understand tho. if there is any substitutes for a 91 camry please let me know. i mainly want them so i can lower the car... but once again thank you.:burnout:

Dear dutchclutch05,

these coilovers are made right here in the us, Indiana to be specific. We special order our kits from KYB. They are made out of Vandium. It is a much more progressive spring material, which was designed to ofer more durabuility and is much lighter then other coilover kits made out of steel. I completly understand on how you feel about risking it on the track. lol But if it helps , we do a minimum 6 month test on all our kits before we ever offer them to the public, and we run our own kits on 3 of our track cars! I would trust my kids being in the car any time with me!
