what about a sticky on FAQ about procedures to go about replacing xyz components. nothing fancy, just info for average joe to save money. maintanence interval etc. check out vwforum.com ..they have good stickies. i'm selling my vw to get a corolla :) Also about CEL light error codes and diagnostic procedures ..that would be wonderful.

We really need a section called Repairs.. I find this very lacking on this forum. maybe vw breaks far more frequently. it's funny, on that forum, a good friend of my has a modified vw that he loves a lot, yet he's afraid of taking it for a long drive.. i'm getting my corolla 99 today, and according to record, this car has been to NY and back to CA!

I'd like to see an DIY valve cover gasket tutorial for the 99 corolla / 8th gen with torque specs. I'm going to look t hrough the haynes book and report back if it's there. I hear it's easy to ruin the gasket by over torquing even half a turn. I think the FAQ should contain links to very common DIY such as:

a) valve cover gaskets.
b) sparkplugs.
c) transmission pan / manual transmission flush.
d) common error codes.
e) interesting basic stuff.
