Hello everyone,
Im new to this forum and have a few questions about my truck that you might be able to shed some light on. First off I have a 1986 turbo efi pickup 4x4 automatic. I bought it last summer and have been having issues with it ever since. One problem ive been dealing with is a starting issue. I had this problem early on and thought i fixed it but it has since resurfaced. Every now and then the truck does not want to start. I will crank the engine and it will rev up a little and die. I leave it sit and try again... same thing. Eventually I can get it to start...most of the time. When I do it usually cough/sputters for a bit and then runs fine. But this is a very sporadic issue. It seems as though it happen more when its very wet and damp outside. I replaced the wires at that seemed to fix it for a while... but this morning it happened again. Where should I go from here?
Second question is about my fuel mileage. Ever since I bought the truck I have been getting anywhere from 11-15 mpg. I dont think this is normal. Maybe a running rich problem has something to do with the no start issue? Im at a loss.
