How do you find the lack of plastic on the back of the seats.

I work in construction in the summer, and it would not be uncommon to throw somthing in the back seat from time to time. Having te plastic i think will be a benifit.

I also want a system. Im starting with a New head unit and Speakers.

So far this is what im doing.
Head unit - DXZ955MC
Rears - Fusion 6-9's (260 watt) from my old car so free)
Fronts (not sure need to buy them as of yet)
Amp ( have a Pheonix gold Tantrum 300.2 from old car)

Im thinking of hooking the amp up to either the fronts, or rears, im not sure which (its only 2 channle). I hope that will get me enough base, if not i will purchase a single 10 to put in the back, but i really dont like the idea of losing the plastic.

What do you guys think? would you put the amp to the front or rear speakers to get better overall quality, but still get a decent amount of base.
just get the single 10" speaker box for the base, and mount the amp under the seat. thats what im going to do. it will let you keep the big tray in back of the seat to store stuff

The double sub kit is $295 with the two boxes and amp board.

answer to pms

1. Some mods have to be made. There are some hooks that have to be removed. They "pop off". You do not "cut them?

2. The plastic will no longer be used on the seats or the storage.

3. The seats will have close fully and the subs will have plenty of room for excursion.

4. The seats should not be folded down when the subs are in place.

5. Yes, the sound is very nice.

6. PM me if you have any other question . . .

Don't forget you can see other pics of my install at http://www.cardomain.com/id/robsatx

do you amps overheat? they don't appear to have much breathing room.
They used to overheat, but that was cause I had the gain up to high. They have not gone thermal ever since I adjusted the gains. I had them to high . . . Once or twice a month I have to drive about 200 miles round trip and have the stereo cranked the whole time . . .no problemo!

I heard that phoenix gold amps are supposed to run really cool . . . The amps in my truck are Polk Momos.

The amp

Some more answers . . .

The amp driving the subs is a 500+ watt mono amp. It can run 2ohm stable.

'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

"Does a stereo amp sound better than a mono amp for the subwoofers?"

Not sure if mono amps sound different from stereo amp for the sub . . .

Anyone have experience with this question?

"Why do you think components sound better?

Any takers on this one?
