sometimes after i start my car, when i make some turns i hear a squealing sound from the stearing wheel.. what can be the cause of this and how do i fix it?

power steering fluids?

probably the belt being too loose

Well I get that but that is just from the steering well cover and the vinyl of the steering wheel rubbing against the plastic piece. It is pretty funny.

It could very well be what epborden said, as it has happened to me. I have also had the steering squeal when I'm at full lock on about half the cars I've ever driven, that's just common.

hehe this happens to me, all it is is the steering wheel rubber rubbing on the fixed column. Check everything to make sure but this was happening to me and only when its warm out and I it took us a good day to figure out where it was coming from, it's annoying but as long as i turn the music up louder i can't hear it any more, my car is 1999 by the way. good luck!

There are a lot of threads about this problem. I have it, too. It seems to go away in the warmer weather. I have decided to not worry about, too. Out of all the posts I have read about this issue nobody has ever indicated that a serious problem has resulted from the noise. I would like to get a definite answer as to what causes the noise.

i have had the same on my 89, i found the opposite though, it only happens when the weather gets hotter and the plastic starts to soften in the sun and funny noises then happen

It's most likely the rubber grommet where the steering shaft passes through the firewall. Spray some silicone spray where the shaft and grommet connect, and you should be all set.
