Those are nice.

How much are the Westins.

I have the factory tubes from Toyota. I love them. They look great on the trucks. They are expensive though. I paid like $360 with a 10% off coupon.
The Westin's are like 320 shipped. And the ones up there are like 175 shipped. I think with the Westin's, you are just buying the name. Plus the cheaper ones come with a lifetime warranty on the chrome paint. Which is a good deal, I think. I'm gonna do some more research on these and make a decision. GOSH!!! So many mod's, so little money to do it with. What an expensive hobby this is.

Eh, it's not as bad as PaintBall or gas-powered RC cars, in my experience. In my opinion, upgrading your vehicles is never a bad hobby. Vehicles are an important part of our lives.

While we're on the subject of expensive hobbies...I had several paintball markers (guns) that were worth over $1500 each , then I had one Nitro-powered RC truck that had over $3,000 in it; Solid titanium and aluminum. And of course I lost major money when I sold it all. :headbang:

Wish I had all that money back so I could spend it on my Taco. :sosad:

shiiit, the engine i put in the MR2 is worth over $10K. that's just for parts. labor was done by yours truly for free. and i still have the stock manifolds, fuel rail, injectors, FPR, PCM, turbo, cams, cam gears, transmission, wheels... :)

$300 for tube steps isn't bad. i personally won't purchase any, but some people find them useful.

I bought a set for my 2004 DC from 'nerfbarsdirect' on eBay a couple years back and they were great.

Haven't looked to see if he's still on there or if he changed his eBay store name, but they were great bars, and had a lifetime warranty.

Hey 55, do you remember about how much you paid for them?

haha, let me look back in my eBay history and see if I can pull up the transaction.

Doesn't look like he has any for the 2005+ models yet, but I paid $129.00, (buy now with free shipping), and loved them. So did somebody else. It got stolen three weeks after I put them on.

Here is one of his auctions:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nerf-Step-Bars-TOYOTA-TACOMA-PRERUNNER-EXT-Stainless_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33650QQitemZ8023066109QQtcZphoto

If you can wait, bookmark him and check back on his eBay store... Or shoot him an email and ask him. He might be able to get them, and just doesn't have any auctions up. His stuff is manufacturer direct, so he might not even know they are available yet.

Looks like he's picked up two negatives in the last six months though....

I didn't have any problems at all though. Besides, 5 negative and 3000 positive aren't bad odds.

What nitro? I have about $2K into my Savage, recently slapped a Lamberto Collari .32 in that bad boy, plus a ton of other mods. Then there's my firearm hobby, now that's expensive. BTW. Solid aluminum and titanium make your r/c truck more brittle. I only aluminize parts that don't need to flex.

Chrome is NOT a paint...it is a metal that is electroplated onto the base metal. Did you mean "chrome/paint" ? I certainly hope so, otherwise you pissed away my tax dollars by cutting classes.

So he called chrome "paint", big f'ing deal. Besides, what public school teaches you how to chrome things?
