Are you only noticing this poor sound quality just with the radio or is it with the CD as well? I posted a similar message about 2 months ago with no response about poor sound quality when listening to the radio but great quality when listening to CD. The radio almost sounds like its in Mono mode.

Does anyone know if the OEM jbl systems have preouts for an amp?
