1zz over rev. 3rd to 2nd drop M/T. 6k to oblivion.
I missed a shift and possibly spun a rod bearing but I have not torn it down yet. My question is has anyone had good success with cleaning the crank up and replacing the bearings or should I just bite the bullet and get another motor. This motor has 60K on it. Are the bearings prone to spin or just knock from wear? It is a good knock on cylinder 3. This is my secound motor in this car the last one did the same thing but had 200k on it and did this on cylinder 2.

Hi and welcome to TN!

Can only tell extent of damage and repair procedure once you've disassembled engine and carefully examine and measure parts.

Ditto. On a 5th gen, easy to drop the pan and inspect everything. Can even reach all bearings to plastiguage.
