how do i go about replacing the inserts?

any order to take it apart?

i know theres a bolt at the bottom but should i hold something before i take off the nut?

Strut insert

I suggest that you replace the entire strut assembly because it is very difficult to remove the old strut insert from the housing. It's not worth your time. I tried to replace just the strut insert at one time to save some money, but I could not remove it from the housing.

i dont want to take out the whole insert.. i just wanna see if the seal or whatever is bad.. its leaking some type of fluid...
i know theres a bolt at the bottom but i dont wanna take it off and have shit fly everywhere

and I meant with the strut "upside down" so that the threads of the shaft are at the top- the only thing in there is fluid, so nothing will come flying out hope that helps!
