I got a Heatshield brand sunshade on ebay for 2012 XLE TCH a couple of weeks ago. I'm really pleased with it. The rearview mirror holds it in place well enough that I don't bother with lowering the visors. It came rolled up but I haven't rolled it up again after use. It stiffened up nicely when unrolled and I just slide it out and put it full length into the back seat when I drive. It's highly reflective and covers every square inch of the windshield. I also got a set of jumbo silvered magic shades at Walmart. They are the type that have a spring wire around the perimeter. I use them on the rear deck and they help a lot. One of them was almost big enough but they come in pairs and two definitely did the trick.

I'll second the recommendation of the HeatShield. It's not the easiest to roll up tight. I just roll it as best I can and then throw it on the backseat floor. It's an exact fit for the windshield and does a great job reflecting sunlight.

I also got the auto-shade from walmart and it works ideally for me for the windshield. If you get it make sure it's the jumbo size "28 in. by 31 in". Once you play around with it you'll find how to situate it where it'll stay without using the visors. I've got it down to where it takes me about 15 seconds to install securely. I open them and put them up to the windshield together with the elastic strap at the roof. Then keep that section closer to me and slide the other section to the right and fit it. Finally I fit the one in front of me and it holds the other in place. They fall short a few inches at the top but no sun seems to get past the dark shading of the windshield there. I place a 8" by 11" thick paper on the dash where the 2 shades leave an opening. When I put them away I store them "with the paper" in one of those paper totes vendors give away sometimes. If you get it just take some time to practice how to fold them. You won't get them in a perfect circle, but you will get them close to the same cross sectional area. I've used the roll type and folding types on my cars before and I prefer this type over those.

Covercraft Car Sun Shade
Funny you said that cause I just bought it online, somewhat pricey at $47 but it's custom fit for your car.

I got the UVS100™ Heat Shield Model at AutoBarn website, cheaper than Amazon and AutoGeek.
They had Star Tron fuel treatment too.

Comes in 5 colors, I went with Blue Metallic.

Cheers.

Yeah. I ordered from AutoAnything and called it it and got 10% off and free shipping. Bought one for my other car. That's the CoverCraft one mentioned above.
I stayed with Silver.... although the blue one looks good!

INTRO-TECH makes a really good custom sunshade that fits the cars exactly. Has the reflective properties on the front to reflect the suns rays. It runs roughly $29.95 so a decent price, but that can depend on where you buy them from.

Also, as a side note, if you crack your windows just slightly, it give the hot air some place to escape to keep the interior a bit cooler. Just a tip I learned a long time ago.

Altus Platinum Magic Shade Jumbo Sunshade - Just got them today. Perfect fit and no need to use the visor to hold it in place. Snug a corner of each section up behind the rear view mirror. Folds nicely into a circle. Be sure to order the Jumbo size. $9.99 shipped with Amazon Prime .

Which cost how much? Can you post a link so I can see what I passed up for more $$$

Is it these things where you have to use the visor - no thanks!

No not yet! I got the Star Tron but not the shade yet, called Auto Barn, they said shade would be ship by Covercraft separately.

Hope I don't get charged for shipping twice. I got the UVS100 model, is that what you got too ?

Gonna call them again and ask for delivery date.

Finally, vendor sent Shipment tracking info, scheduled to arrive tomorrow evening!

They said sun screen was custom made when ordered is reason for delay, they don't keep big inventory.

Sure hope Blue Metallic looks okay with my Grey Metallic TCH.

Pics from their website...
