The TC used a 2.5 Liter block (think Camry engine) and the XB had a 1.5L for the first gen and a 2.5L for the second gen. Pretty sure both of those are a no go on the 1.8L found in the corolla. Any work do be done to make it work would need to be highly custom.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I used wiki for the engine choices on those cars.

If it were my money to dump into the engine of my corolla, I would much rather go for a turbo and a limited slip diff up front.

I kinda most would lean towards a turbo and I've seen some pretty neat setups. Choices, I've even thought of going all motor too. We will see, we got time.
