okey so ive been working on my car
recently while cleaning my engine bay i noticed this
does anyone have any idea what that might be?

today while replacing my stock stereo and window motor i noticed two things

first thing is the thin plastic sheet to keep the area protected from water is missing from the front drivers side.

also there is a hole in the door from inside
why whould anyone drill a hole in the door from inside?

1. Cant reall tell but it looks like a horn... Or maybe if u have auto lights, maybe the sensor for that.

2. Sometimes its a pain to get the plastic door thing to stay in place and sometimes even stick. I know ive ripped my fair share of them out. And idk about that whole but looks like u just need to put the door panel back on before you find more unusually things about your car, lmao. Take care!!

1. it's probably a horn. does your horn sound different from others?
2. it looks like a hole made by gun shot to me lol (although we all know that's not a real bullet hole)

My Avalon also has one of the things in picture 1 on the bumper. I believe it's an outside air temperature sensor for the digital display....at least that's what it is for my car. Number 2 I can't help you with other than to say possibly someone has been inside that door for a repair before and didn't put the liner back...and no clue on the hole unless it was done in order to better reach a bolt or something behind it....

Pic #1 is definitely the outside air temp sensor. My '01 also has one and I unplugged it one day to see if that was what it was.

No. 2: To remove the bolt that attaches the window to the rail? (I considered it for a sec...in my recent experience w/a bad motor)????
