rear suspension is a flaw in design for avalons, get some performance shocks for the rear, otherwise they will rub your tire regardless of tire/rim size.
i have KYB-GR2 for the rear, theyre still too soft! try tokico!
N00b here!
Mine is bouncing makes me thing I'm aboard USS Nimitz. I noticed when hitting a bump the front end makes too much rebound. And I suspect the rears are too soft too. I don't know how this car handles when new cuz I bought it used and never drive a big sedan before. But I drive a ES350 couple of times and the plush ride is about the same w/ avalon only the ES doesn't give that Nimitz feel.
Aside from KYB and Tokico I also found Monroe, any advise on these thing?
oh, they are soft, man! i have them. i still have to watch the road bc i can hear them rubbing on the strut mounting plate in rear when i have one or two adults sitting back there.
Are they? felt OK to me, actually bit harsh almost on par w/ Accord ride quality. Since i never rode new avy I presume it should be softer than Accord.
I browse around and found Monroe and Tokico as alternatif. I heard Monroe is harsh and Tokico should be bit harsh than KYB, also it says 1.25 drop than OEM. I don't know whether I should replace the spring if I use that. And as you see nobody replies to my post here Hence KYB GR2! I'm happy now.
