I wasn't necessarily planning to upgrade the stock CD player in my '08 Taco reg cab, but I just found a 6-disc JBL head unit out of an '07 DC for a reasonable price locally. I know, aftermarket is better... but I want to keep the 'factory' look on the dash because I don't like the large dash kits you need to install the aftermarket h/u.
This JBL h/u comes with the amp & sub. If I can't find an 'easy' way to use the amp & sub, could I still "plug & play" the JBL h/u? I'm not sure if it will have the same connectors for my stereo wiring harness, or if the JBL h/u even has an internal amp at all (to power my existing speakers).
I tried a search for "JBL*", since I figured JBL was too short. My search was shot down, though, so I don't know if this h/u swap has already been addressed.
