swapping 5sfe for 1mz-fe

ok so i wanted to swap my I4 in my 94 camry for the v6. i found just about everything i need, like the engine itself and an automatic transmission, both from a 94 lexus es300. i would like to have a manual transmission but so far i cant find one. ive found the mounts, alternator, ac compressor, wiring harness, and all that other stuff. most of it comes with the engine. ive also found a tune up package that includes new pistons, rings, belt, gaskets, bushings, oil pump, bearing set, thrust washer set, and other things. i was just wandering how hard it would be to swap the motor.

do u have the ecu and the engine harness and all? thats the most tedious part. id also hold out for a manual, they are around and would be much better then the auto. that would be alot of work to throw away on a slush box auto tranny.
automatic = no bueno :thumbdown

definitely wait to find a manual transmission
Needed for swap:

Entire V6 parts car

/end
its cheaper and easier to buy a 3rd gen camry with a v6 already. theres simply no point in putting in all that effort and money.
well i was jokin around with my friend, 1990camryman... if u notice a similarity its cuz he made the account for me, but we was sayin that it would be cool to see a camry with an rb26dett skyline r34 engine, or a 4g63 from an evo III. pretty rediculous really but it would be cool. i would go and buy a v6 model but ive already done a bunch of stuff to my car and i dont feel like transfering it over or loosing it b/c im lazy, and my parents, im only 17 btw so my parents still have a say for a year, but they wont let me sell the car, but they will let me swap the engine. i have found the ecu and engine harness. its just the manual transmission i cant find. if u know of any online stores that might have one let me know.

how? a good gen3 V6 would cost around 2500+(depending on where ya live) and unless it is a 92-93 SE u wont get a manual. if you do it smart and do the work yourself a swap can cost as little as a grand, even less depending on the condition of the motor and where you source your parts. id say 1500 would be a reasonable amount to spend on a V6 swap.

if you have ever been in a manual V6 camry this wouldnt even be an issue. you will kick your self in the ass if you dont do manual. theres over a 20whp differance between the auto and manual and its 10x funer, not to mention there are upgrades like short throw shifters, clutches flywheels. there are plenty of places to find a manual, check your local junkyards, online scrapyards, there are companies i looked at in the past that have rebuilt trannys as well, hell even ebay, i thought i say one F/S on there a couple days ago for like 350 bucks.

ok so i called the junk yard today and they have 2 trannys, both manual. so im gonna go over there one of these days and see how much they want for one of them and check them out. they also have then engine too which is cool cuz i wont have to wait for it to get shipped here. now ive got another question for my future plans. do they make a turbo kit for the v6, or am i going to have to fabricate a lot of stuff. i now that with the 5sfe, the 3sgte manifold will bolt right on, and the ct26 turbo works well with it, and some 550cc fuel injectors will be good enough for it, and ill need a front intercooler that will fit in the valence between the radiator and the bumper, but ill have to fab all the piping.
i was going to go through with the whole 3sgte manifold and head swap with ct26 turbo on my 4 cyl but idk seems like it wouldnt be worth the money... so right now im also thinkin of a v6 swap or 3sgte swap but idk what is easyer... prob v6 im guessin :) no i dont want to sell my car. I cant just part with my camry for another one. my camry is APART of me! :) [not trying to thread jack]

smart man!!! and na, there is no turbo kit for the V6 but depending on how much power your goin for and what year the 1mz is for you can get a S/C for it. you can actually put a S/C on either 1mz but a 97+ 1mz will be an easier to put on(eye8pussies can be helpfull in reguards to S/Cing a 94-96 1mz). there are a couple people who have turboed the 1mz, id PM either glitch360 or tonythetiger. they will be able to help out the best.

Actually, the '96 1MZ is a 1 year only engine/ECU. It's not been done on one......yet.
ya. im gonna save up some cash and get the v6 and the tranny and everything. ill prolly rebore the engine while im at it, like 4mm bigger. i was lookin through cardomain though and i found this guy who did a complete skyline conversion, cosmetic wise, to his 92 camry, so i decided i want to do that cuz there is no way im gonna be able to get an r34 gtr, and i like the skyline. if u want to check it out heres the link:

looks good, kinda like a sedan skyline.
hey guys...I dont know anything about tunning cars...whats the 1MZ? is it a different engine from another car?

The 1MZ is the engine code for the V6 engine.
the 1mz-fe is the v6 in the 94-96 camry, the 3vz-fe is the v6 in the 92 and 93 camry.

The 1MZ was also in all the V6 Camry's from 1997-2003, and in the LE/XLE V6 Camry from 2004-2006. It was also in other Toyota cars and SUV's, as well as in Lexus's line up.
this means my 2001 camry V6 has a 1mZ already...coool gonna go turbo...too poor though >_< I dont think I ever seen a fast automatic camry EXCEPT for TONY THE TIGER'S
does anybody know the difference in gas mileage between the 4cyl. and the 6 cyl.?
