Greetings,

I have a 2001 Solara SLE V6 automatic which is being used by my son at school.

Apparently he loaned the car to someone who left the lights on over night.

Problem: the car will start, but now the power windows, power locks, and tachometer do not work. In addition, my son cannot put the car into gear to drive.

I'm trying to long distance diagnose , and was looking for input. Could the problem be the multi-function switch in the steering column?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,

John

Start by checking all the fuses and fusible links in the engine compartment.

There is also a fuse box behind the drivers side ash try.

The shift lock ties in with the stop light switch, do the stop lights work?
