i want to know if there are any known symptoms of a failing rear swaybar endlink.

i have an aftermarket swaybar - whiteline 20mm 3-way adjustable and it is on the middle setting (middle hole).

i think that may contribute to the faster wear of my endlink but i wonder if a failing endlink makes any kind of noise because I hear a noise that is hard to describe.

thanks

Only noise I had coming from the back related to the sway bar was a worn out stock bushing on the bar/frame interface. That was on a stock bar on a 95 Prizm. I'd imagine you have aftermarket bushings with your bar. That sound was a hollow rattling type sound.

yeah it came with aftermarket polyurethane bushing. i hear it when i drive over potholes or bumps and it kind of sounds like a hard plastic being compressed .... that probably makes no sense lol.

Is that what it sounds like?

a urethane bushing will squeak if not properly greased.

If you suspect the endlinks, inspect them for cracked rubber or excessive free play in the ball joint.
