I have a 95 T-100 with the 5vxxx 190 hp V-6, I love the truck, bought it new 157,000 miles ago. No complaints. I'm noticing that my mileage has dropped both in town and on the hiway. Plus although the truck runs fine in every normal aspect it just doesn't have the power/pull/acceleration that I was fine with before. All required and normal maintenance and CA. smogs are all good and done. Anyone else loosing performance as the miles stack up.
Compression is good, oil consumption is nill. Time for cams maybe?

thanks,Sdspeed

yeah found that, was thinking cat. converter maybe trashed internally .
Did you clean it carefully? There are a few threads describing the best way to clean it.

I don't think whether or not the cat working will affect the performance/gas mileage of yer engine...unless it's all clogged up.:confused:

I search for those posts, haven't had a chance to do anything since a guy backed into the truck the day i started this post and my truck has been in the body shop.

If the cat is plugged up it will create un-wanted back pressure and I'd say i've seen mainly some lose in mpg vs. performance. No way to check them. Maybe someone on this forum has had theirs removed when they installed headers or a new exhaust system could enlighten us. I'm in CA. so the cat has to stay on for smog laws.
Thanks much for the input!
