I am replacing the gauges in my '89 Toyota extended cab 22Re pickup with the '90 SR5 gauges from a V-6. I have heard the 6 cylinder tachometer can easily be adjusted to work with the 4 cylinder motor without having to wire in a potentiometer. Has anybody done this and can somebody explain the procedure to me in simple terms? What can I say, I am getting old..... Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just did mine , yes you have to adjust the tach , but more important you may have to change out your speedometer cable and in my case I custom made one because I could not locate a sr5 cluster for a I-4
