Storing things.

I keep some cheap rope that I dont care if it gets stolen back there for tying things down in a hurry.

If you want them to lock there is a DIY on putting a lock in them.
I do mean the ones with no way to hold anything in, not the ones with the doors. How could you lock it, there's no door!
Are you talking about the ones over the wheel wells? I find they're useful for holding minuscule amounts dirt, gravel, mulch, and whatever else I've had in my bed. You never know when you might need seven pieces of 2a limestone or three ounces of shredded hardwood mulch.

i use mine to catch rainwater just in case i get stranded in the desert.
i don't live anywhere near a desert though:lol:

I believe that this is one of the most honest, sincere, and funniest replies I have read.
I think I'm going to put some bed lights in mine. Seems like a good place seeing as how those pockets are useless otherwise.
I'm pretty sure they are used to create drag to assist the ABS system.

 Everyone who looks in my bed point to those and ask, "what the hell are these for, catching dirt and rainwater??"
i saw one guy on this forum actually stick some waterproof speakers in there which i thought was the best idea cause 1. they're only 20$ @ radioshack so if someone really is that desperate they can have them 2. it must be great 4 tailgatin at the game 3. u look pretty cool rollin down the street with music blastin out of the bed..it's sure 2 get some attention
i but extra straps for the bike there or muddy cloths there. but no idea ..
yep, those are the ones! I'm sure someone at Toyota had an idea for them but I have no idea what it is. Mine wouldn't even be good to catch water because they have drain holes in them...so no one really knows???
one can of beer in each one? I'm pretty sure thats what they had in mind....
They work really well as my nightstand when I'm sleeping back there. Watch, keys, headlamp, etc. . .
I think they have something to do with Romulins....
When I go for a run I throw my nasty sweaty shirts in them to air out. And I keep a tennis ball in one for my dog to play fetch. Hmm, I could put whatever I want back there cause of my undercover tonneau on top of my bed.
Mike

PS, I love having a bed that I never have to make. Just think about it.
They hold the wing nuts and washers when I take my Hi-Lift out of the bed to use. :D
On a similar note. How do your remove this pocket? Mine has a piece of plastic hanging out from underneith and I can't get a grip on it....
