I haven't had mine long enough to try a measurement yet, but 17.6 is at least within spec. My previous truck (ranger edge 3.0) drank gas; about 14-15mpg, and it was rated for 22! Never buy an edge, god what a POS of an engine.

I'll fill up for the first time this weekend, and then I'll start monitoring mpg.

I have a brand new '04 Double Cab 4x4 (V-6, auto) and I average 20mpg, but I have a 28 mile (one-way) freeway commute every day. Then there's running around town and that sort of stuff. I got 22mpg on a 700 mile road trip, with my quad in the back and a couple hundred pounds of gear. Not too bad for 4wd, I guess. I try not to hot-rod it around too much (not like the truck is really fast, anyway!).

I don't know why I'm getting such shitty mileage. You get the same and you have a s/c. I guess it must be that my work is only 3 miles away... the engine doesn't even have a chance to fully warm up before I'm there.... and I only drive to school 2 times a week that's 18 miles away. I must drive too little

i think im pretty lucky to get the mileage that i do, with an s/c and bigger injectors and pump, i would think the mileage would go way down. i wish i only had to drive as much as you lol i bought my truck in june of 2003, and now 15 months later i have put 30000 miles on it
