New user and first post. I've search and haven't seen any other post that explain this noise. I have a 2012 taco 4x4 V6 6 speed. the noise started about a month ago. when i would first start in the morning using the clutch cancel button it would start and then make a squeaking noise for about 10-15 seconds then stop. Now that it is colder it does it when using the switch and when pushing in the clutch to start and does it longer. it kinda sounds like the starter turning but no grinding and it does not change with engine speed or pushing in the clutch. I've attached a link to a you tube video of the sound. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
James Gersema

Yup, what Splicer said: my first guess would be a failing throw out bearing.

Quick test. Immediately after startup, while it is squealing, press the clutch in. If the noise stops or changes, throw out bearing is where I would look first.

That's a strange one for sure. Sounds grindy to me even to the point of metal-on-metal, and it slows down. Try it again with the hood open and see if you can pinpoint it a bit better. One point is this is the only time when your air injection pump runs right after being started when the RPMs are high like that. Don't rule it out. It is located on the right side just below the washer fluid reservoir and is kind of a big black thing.

Drivers or passenger side? Right or left is subject to where you are standing.

Under is easy, unless truck is inverted.
