i called toytec and talked to kirk and i wanted to order longer shocks because with the 3in 885 coiland aal's it is real jaring over speed bumps and pot holes and he told me that the ome shocks are same length as stock and would not fix the jarring he said it was probably in the intallation but it was installed right. is there a way to fix the hard bumps.

correct me if I'm wrong.... but don't the OME rear shocks extend longer than the stock billies? they're called extended length shocks aren't they?

who did you speak with at toytec?

talk to david, i think that is his name. But he told me the shocks will make it a lot better. I have the stock trd shocks on mine with 885's and its a jaring ride also. The shocks are not longer when they are installed but they have more travel. Your stock shocks are prolly topping out over bumps like mine are.

when pointerdixie had his truck i rode in it with the ome shocks, and it handle bumps awesome, totally different than mine. The only difference is that he had 884's instead of 885's. eyedoc has the ome shocks on the front with 885's, talk to him.

Order yourself some 5100's, they ride pretty smooth with my 885's in the front.

yea, I have OME's in the front with 885's and my ride is, IMO, perfect... nice and smooth. my rear end is ROUGH as all hell...... with the stock billies!!! My rear OME extended length shocks are on their way as of today thanks to the for sale thread... ;)

Trust me, OME shocks are for real and along with the toytec 3" lift....your ride will be plenty smooth.

I always spoke to Doug at toytec....seemed really knowledgable.

i am really starting to lean towards the 6in procomp lift for 1300 bucks because i wont need uca's or shock's and the price for ucas shocks and brake line is 1140.00 its like geting a extra 3in for 200 bucks the only thing is i have 16in rims and the lift reqiures 17 but i can add wheel spacers until i get money for 17in wheels and 35's then i can sell my 3in lift and my helo maxx8 rims with 285/75/16 procomp m/t with only 4,000 miles on them and come out better

Are you planning on getting the stage 1 for that price? If so I heard the ride is OK but might not be much better with the current setup you've got. My buddy has the stage II with the MX6 shocks and the ride is better than stock IMO.

Personally, if your going to go with the six inch I'd save my money, sell what you've got when the time comes get it right the first time and avoid spacer's all together. As far as 35's think twice, after sometime you'll probably end up wanting to re-gear and if you've got a 4x4 you have to do both cases which can be a lot of $$$! Plus you'll still have rubbing issues like most people do with a 3" lift and 285/70/17's. 33x12.50 M/T's looks pretty sweet with a 6" (that's what I'm currently saving up for!). Good luck.

i also second speaking to doug at toytec. he seems to be the most knowledgeable one there. he also recommend the OME shocks to me as well. I have them in the front and rears (884 coils and TC UCAs) and the ride is significantly better.

I originally put the 885 springs in with the stock shocks because Toytec was back ordered on the OME shocks. The stock shocks topped out reall easy. I then replaced the stocks with OME shock and the length was the same bewtween the two. I do not have the topping out any longer though and it handles the bumps way better now.
