Lexan might be the way to go  I've added a $#&t ton of weight, and then some. The nice thing about these skids are that they are unsprung weight.

I think the next move is gunna be TC weld on spindle gussets.

Very nice TS! I wish skids weren't so expensive! $110 seems like a lot for 2 plates of steel. And then the AP underbelly skids are expensive too. Don't get me wrong, they would certainly come in handy but I wish they were a tad bit cheaper.
I agree. I do plan on taking all the skids off at some point and trying to fab up copies for some buddies.

The way I see it, I could spend a grand on skids, or far more then that on damage. I have, and plan on wheeling the piss outta my truck in the future. Damage is inevitable, I know that, I just want to keep it to a minimum.

That's a great idea! And if you do, I wouldn't mind being one of your "buddies":D Haha, I bet you could make some money off of that though.

I hear you on the damage though. Prevention is better than reconstruction:thumbup:
Your truck just keeps getting better and better! Keep it up dude!

I have access to some migs and a plasma cutter at school. I have been thinking about this for a while now. Probably useless for me though, main reason I wanted some was to keep brush out of the open area on the lcas. Looks like those skids don't do much for that though, and I don't know how far the half shafts travel down, so I'm afraid to extend the skid much further if I were to make my own.

I try to keep out of the boulders and stick to the expedition style stuff and smaller rocks. :)

Looks good though!

Carry on.
