Hey all,
Noob here. Question for anyone. The temp gauge on my 96 Taco has started acting really strange. It works fine normally, but when you reach about 2900-3000 rpm's the gauge will start dipping and bouncing around. It does this in any gear. The scan tool says the sensor's are reporting a consistent temp, no variation on the readouts.

I'm lost. Air in the system? Bad sensor somewhere? Any help would be great.

I would check the connections to the back of the instrument cluster and, just because it's easy, check the connection to the temp. sensor.

I agree ... Sounds like a basic electrical glitch (probably triggered by vibration, since it's rpm-specific).
