Had 2 days of snow in NE Ohio, and I'LL tell ya, the 08 HL is amazing in the snow. Handles like a dream. Made my 110 mile commute a breeze. Now if the darn thing did not rattle and squeak. :sosad:

We had 3-4" of snow the other day here in NY and the Highlander performed well. I never had a problem with my 40 miles drive from work. The 'Snow' button helped a lot doing uphill and downhill on snow.

I got my HL with Toyo tires on it and it's been great so far.

The Toyos are also great in snow based on my experience in Denver. Where they DON'T perform as well is stopping on ice or ice/snow mixes. The ABS kicks in and the stopping distance from 15 mph is looooong.

Once these Toyos get worn I'm hopeful that someone will have created a knobbier tire in the 19" size. I think the Toyos are a skewed a bit too much towards "all season/no noise" in their tread patten.

Summerwind: I have the dunlops, and based on past experince, they will be well worn at 25K
Interersting...I was under the impression that the only tires installed at the factory were Toyos and Bridgestones and if you wanted another brand you would have to wait awhile for the tire industry to produce the new size used on the Sport and Limited.

Is yours a Base model with the 17" wheels??

FWIW. summerwind,
I have a base 4x4 and it has the Dunlop Gran Teck 30 tire.
It's OK in snow. It goes better than it stops on hard packed snow and ice. I'm looking for a better tire.
