Looking at the long term......may not do the turbo.

I'll keep you updated on the possible sale of the turbo parts. Keeping the car as a daily no matter what. But most likely getting a classic with a V8 :D

all that talk for nothing

that is the smart decision, if i had another daily id still do it just because so few actually have. a turbo camry coupe is more origional then another domestic V8.

waht are ya lookin at getting? classic as in actual classic muscle car? cuz thats worth it all the way(even though its heavy and cannot turn well even if its not moving:lol:)

i know....still debating, not def out yet.

But i could pick up a 67 impala and drop a 427 in it for the money i would get back from parts and extra money. Plus the cam looks good as it is, doesn't NEED to be fast

PLus realistically it would not be THAT fast, still gettng beat by newer production cars.
And nothing earns you points like driving a 60's musclecar :D

agree 100%. i said it then and ill say it now. there is nothing in the world that compares to driving and owning a true american muscle car even though its a horrible power to weight and doesnt handle worth a shit. there is a certain history and heart behind them ya cant get anywhere else.

just remember, ull spend twice as long working on it as u do driving it...seriously:lol:

true. I had thoughts of turboing too but damn- its just not worth the money or age of the car. I said it before; i'll say it again- It was made to be reliable, safe, economic and nothing more. So, let's leave it that way.

muscle truck for me tho- LOL. V10 Viper truck all the way! and that can be had in the lower/mid 30s used. I mean honestly now; 500/505 for 30gs w/the ability to haul stuff?.. it just can't be beat when it comes to the bang for the buck!

thats real big now, i have a couple friends that are working on a road race ready 67 camaro. little money spent on the engine and trans but alot on upgraded and light weight suspension and brake components. it still doesnt handle well but its much better then what they started with. i even did a little on my modernizing with my El Camino, but that kinda stuff is expensive as building a motor.

Milt, i dont know how ya could go further with ur camry anyways that thing is perfect. with the exception of tony, i think everyone moves on from the camry. its a great little project but unluss you are in a very narrow position, like tony to do so, theres just not much you can do that will be worth the money.

its funny, im seeing less and less gen3s on the road too.

^ thanks for letting us know, mr steelies

Ive said it a million times and Ill say it again, everyone hates on me in the "I want to turbo my camry" threads when i say the 5sfe is a waste of time and there will probably never be a reliable, fast turbo 5sfe camry, but here we are again. Im not a noob when I say this kids!!

Im not saying drew couldnt have done it, he had a really good shot at it and took a very positive approach, but youve got to realize it just isnt worth the money... everyone does at some point. Unless you are super rich ballin out of control, dont bother spending all the money.

I applaud this decision...

and it seems like on the ones of us who don't have jobs have to stick with your camrys as both a project car and DD

meh....once I'm done school the camry will be an actual project car and I'll have my twin turbo GS430... ;)
