hey all

i recently changed the oil in my rolla from 20w/30w to 15w/30 and i notice that now when its cold, the engine revs a fair bit higher then what it use to with the previous oil. use to rev up cold at about 1.2rpm, now its more like 1.5rpm...is this change normal when you use thinner/different oils?

cheers

according to the theory behind using a thinner oil is that it will allow the engine to rev easier and with less resistance, this is normal behaviour.

did you compare the cst rating specifications of both oils at operating termperature to determine how thick one oil is as opposed to the other?
