Just had my 2005 Tacoma for about 6 months now, and this started when the temperature started to get cold.

When I drive my truck between 30 and 50mph, I hear this annoying lop sided tire sound. It’s kind of like a grinding thump.
I took it to the dealer he said it was the tire, I took it to the tire shop they said it was the truck. Getting no where with that I put my spare on one tire at a time, but the noise continued. It sounds like its coming from the driver’s side front tire area, but I have NO idea what it is.
I jacked it up and have had a few good looks, but I cant find anything. Anyone have any ideas where to look or something that might need to be lubed up?

Tires can make some strange sounds when they wear, especially if they're agressive ATs or MTs. Try rotating the tires to see if the sound changes. If it does, its probaly from the tires. If it doesn't, find a realistic mechanic. May be a good idea to check the alignment while your at it.

He tried the spare one at a time so it is not a tire problem. Maybe a bearing ? does it make noise when taking a sharp corner ? Does the sound change when you turn the wheel left to right when going 50 and the noise is there ?
