Where is the connector that needs to be unplugged before the timing can be set on a '87 22RE engine?

Thank you

you don't unplug anything although mine is a 91 i assume yours is the same.on the data sticker it tells you to jump i think on mine is the t1 connector on the square box on the passenger side fender well.look here on timing setting for 22re im sure you will find the post.

12 degrees BTDC WITHOUT the check connector bridged = 5 degrees BTDC WITH the check connector bridged. So you can skip the bridging and just set the timing to 12 degrees BTDC.
