I j ust recently bought some Cooper Discoverer STT's 265/75/16 Load Range E. When i got home from them being mounted the tire shop set the psi to 60, Now i know the max psi on the tire is 80psi, but should i leave them at 60? It seems a little high. Also would the pressure being this high make the tire pressure sensor light up?

I tried searching but couldn't find anything on what psi I should use, all i could find was junk about the sensor.

I run my coopers at 45. Anything less and they feel too squishy in corners for me.

60 psi?

That will make your truck ride like a dump truck.

It might be too late now, but I would have made them send the E tires back, and get you D or C rated tires. E rated tires are heavy and will hurt your MPG more. They are made for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks that haul a lot of weight.

Anyway, lower your PSI down to at least 40.

i run my coopers at 40 right now, and i think the ride is a little rough. i have to go over this real bumpy and old expressway every day and it isnt too fun. I have the D range though. I probably should have gone for C range but o well.

X2-
40psi seems to be right for the weight of our trucks. The chalk test will prove this.
