So in my Tacoma, im running. 2 10' inch Kickers running like 275 RMS and i have a 650 RMS 12' inch. All of this running off of an 800 Wat Eclipse Mono Block Amp..

I was told since i do not have a capacitor when i play my music to loud im making my alternator work to hard, so its going to fail and go out faster then if ididnt..

Is this true??

whoever told you that is misinformed. The myth about caps is that it helps your charging system. Yes it does, but only if you have the proper amperage to support your equipment. A capacitor basically is another electrical component that is run off of the alternator. It is charged up when not in use and is only used for those times when you have a lot of power usage(long bass beats in a row). I dont know how many amps your alternator turns out, but you arent pulling that much wattage. When the bass hits, does your lights dim? If not, then you are fine.

Try doing the big 3 upgrade if you haven't done so already. You may also be able to buy an upgraded alternator for your vehicle. Some Toyota's with towing package had upgraded alternators that you may be able to get.
