Hi 4AGE Peeps...
I got a South African version 4AGE series 3 ... called a GLi twincam 16 AE92 FW
long story short ...
for those interested to see pics on mods and car ...
http://revz.co.za/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=75
head is worked, flowed, intake ports made bigger to match port size on head
got 2* 258 billet cams with verniers ... and 3.5kg lighter flywheel ...
Perfect Power SMT6 fine tuning the ignition timing and fueling ... most the car was on a Dyno was 116Kw and 165Nm
Been running like this the past 2 years now ... from 200 000km to 230 000km ...
No hiccups *touch wood*
Any how I'm interested in the Toda Setup ... it is 272 (ex) and 264 (in)
What can I expect +- ... this is the cam setup for the toda series 4AGE's which were apparently track setups ... so i guess it is low down Nm and high rev setup Kw ...
What will a bigger (ex) cam yield with having the intke cam smaller ???

i know how much power that is, what im saying is that seems like alot for a smallport with mild cams, headwork, and a stock bottom end.

eish i post on the club4AG forum but got no repsonses yet!!!!
STD 4AGE series motors with headers and free flow systems push just about 100Kw and 14Nm on the same dyno i make this power!!!
Wnated to fit BT Throttles but then that calls for full management as you will need to go past the 7800rpm limiter on the CPU and upgrade the internals of the block and get high rev valve train kit and got 280(ex) and 288(in) CAMS ==> TODA setup!!!!
That gonne cost oodles and oodles moola same as just turbo charging my current 4AGE!!!!
Thanx for your guys comments :D

welcome to TN

the benefits of running a staggered cam duration setup (shorter exhaust):
-you will gain some low end torque (you will have a fatter powerband starting in lower RPM's), over a matched setup (IN and EX duration are the same)

disadvantages:
-BUT you will lose some peak torque and high RPM power, compared to a matched cam setup.

so it all depends on where you want your power and your driving style...

SWEET thanx for you answer buddy ...
I want mid to high RPM power ... 5K rpm till 7.5k rpm car must have majority power ...
The 258 billets pulls nicely through those rev ranges currently but as u scratch and search for more power u WANT to go bigger :naughty:
Will take ur comments into consideration when i do the CAM upgrade :D

personally, id go with equal duration cams. cause i'm with you, we got 1.6L high reving engines that dont make alot of torque downlow anyway, so you might as well go with the flow .

im planning on goign with some 264 @ 9mm for my silvertop.
