whats up guys? been several months since ive posted on here lol

Okay so i have a question to ask about my tokico blue shocks. this is quite strange and has started happening after around the spring break time after i had my front strut mounts replaced. so whenever i get my cars tires rotated or get an alignment or something that requires lifting the car off the ground. whenever the car is lowered back on to the ground the suspension rides like a fucking rock! im talking no suspension travel at all. i assume its the shocks because i dont know what else it could be. after a few days of driving the car will ride normal again (not soft but at least have some travel). i dont know if its a sign that my shocks are going bad or what. the shocks are probably 4-5 years old and ive been on the ground control sleeves for about 2.5 years and ive never noticed this happening until a couple months ago.

im just really curious why this is happening now. its like my car is riding like it should be laying frame pretty much lol. just wondering if anyone has heard of something like this

after you lower it, is everything settling correctly ? since the spring isnt loaded at full damper length, everything comes apart.

maybe ur dampers are blown and when you fully extend them, the fluid goes back to the right place and gives you some good damping until the fluid leaks to somewhere else again. sorry i dont really know how a twin tube works so i can only guess.

but its like the car rides super smooth (for gc/tokico setup) after a couple days. yeah its a little bouncy but thats mainly because the shocks werent stiff enough to begin with.

even when i put the ground control setup on 2 years ago i can honestly say that the shocks were not that stiff when they were definitely still good.

and let me clarify when i say stiff i mean full race coilover damper setting set to full stiff, stiff. there was litterally like NO suspension movement lol. it was super bouncy but thats because i could feel every pebble in the road lol. my seat was crying from my ass crushing it on every bump haha

but after about 2 days of driving it slowly goes back to where it was

but a leak sounds like it could be plausible. maybe the shocks have just gotten so used to being so compressed that they do build more pressure when they're fully extended to a position they're never at. i really dont know though lol

its hard for anyone to relate because i am one of few with this setup and ive one thats had it the longest now

yeah if i can find my receipt i have the warranty but no receipt no warranty. i couldnt handle being that stiff all the time. it was hurting my back and i could focus straight because it was just bouncing too much. i cant imagine what it must feel like to actually have bouncy blown shocks actually with stiff springs. my shocks werent bouncy ill tell you that. i would try so hard to push down on the trunk and the car would not budge. it was like the shocks were just seized up

now that my suspension is back to normal riding it feels so soft lol. still much stiffer than most cars but a lot softer than what is was 2 days ago.
