I recently bought an '08 Taco R/C PreRunner, and I immediately wanted to "fix" the factory rake (and replace the ugly wheels & skinny tires). I picked up a set of new take-off front struts from an '07 TRD D/C because I wanted the Bilsteins, and I figured I'd be removing my stock struts, anyway, to install a pair of 2" aluminum spacers. So I had the local shop replace my stock struts yesterday with the TRD struts & spacers.

When I picked up my truck, I was surprised to find the front end 2" taller than the back end. It was originally 2.5" shorter, which meant I got 4.5" of total lift! I was an idiot and failed to recognize the extra lift I'd get from the stiffer TRD springs, which are designed to hold the weight of the V6 (vs my 4cyl).

So now I've got two options:
1) remove my 2" spacers, which will leave my Taco level (my original intent)
or
2) install a 2" lift in the rear

My 32" tires (275/65R18's) are already installed and have more than enough clearance. I'm really concerned about going to the 4"/2" F/R lift, as far as needing to upgrade more things (like longer shocks and ?). Plus, I'm probably ruining the drivetrain warranty. If I can get find a simple, inexpensive lift for the rear (blocks, shackles, or AAL?), without having to upgrade a lot of other components, I guess it's alright.

What would you guys recommend?

Is your driveway slanted as well, because it looks almost the same maybe a 1/2 to 1 inch higher in front, do you have a pic on level ground???

dude, first of all, get rid of that decal, go cleeeeean
I'm planning to remove the pinstripe this weekend.

I just re-measured the F/R heights, and it seems that the front has "settled" almost an inch since I brought it home from the lift install. Now the front is just over 1" taller than the rear.

On flat ground, this is how my Taco sits now...

I just don't like the slight "uphill" stance I've got now. I have a pair of new 1" blocks and new u-bolts that I originally bought for a Tundra (several years ago), and it looks like they'll fit my Taco. I know blocks aren't ideal, but since I only need 1 inch, should I go this route? Thanks...

1 inch blocks should be good
Ditto. I have OME 885 coils in the front and 1" rear toytec blocks in the rear and Im about 1" higher in the rear. That is perfect for me.

Not sure why nobody recomended it, but why not just get an AAL? I dont think 1" is enough, plus theres actually a few benefits from an AAL.

final (?) setup

In the past 4 days I added a billet grille, fog lights, and most importantly, the 1" rear blocks. The back end is now 1/4-inch higher than the front, which I can live with. :)

After I install the receiver hitch this week, it will be ready for sale. ;)
