I'm afraid that update is not available in Europe... and I doubt it will be in a near or far future.
Despite the European version of the Camry is equivalent to the one sold in other markets, these guys decided that no updates will be released. If you check the radio&navigation software, you'll be amazed to find that our systems are running "Touch2Go" and not "Entune". Yep, a completely different system despite the interface looks the same.

Options you (and me) have are:
1) Install an aftermarket box that connects to the car screen. This will result into having 2 systems, and you have to switch between them using the screen buttons to use the carplay unit.
2) Install a aftermarket radio unit. Expensive, and probably we'll loose some features.
3) Best one, but absolutely not desirable for obvious reasons you'll find further, is a company that offers flashing the unit to bring Carplay available.
Bad new is that you have to dissasemble the radio and ship it to... Moscow. They have a 2nd location were to ship the units... Kiev.

Before Russia decided to invade Ukraine, I had been in conversations with these guys as interlocutor of a Camry Spanish owners club. Price is around 300€ plus shipping costs but, honestly, despite my contact seemed to be a fair and honest person, after all this mess began, we decided not to proceed.

I found a guy from Kiev, Sergey, that runs a car-audio workshop and offered me a workaround as one of his employees moved to Germany.

To be taken into account:
  1. This new firmware do not provides DAB: just AM/FM for radio.
  2. In some countries, from a user perspective, this may be acceptable. In Spain, DAB stations are airing only in Madrid and Barcelona (600 km away from where I live)
  3. The EU made DAB reception in cars mandatory equipment in Dec 2018. No idea if that means FM radio will be shutted down soon, but if so we may loose radio forever unless you reflash the unit to recover DAB. Say goodbye to Carplay in such case.
  4. You have to dissasemble the whole radio (radio, screen and panel) and ship it to Germany. By far, easier than shipping it to Ukraine, but... you know: if not wrapped correctly, there is a risk of a crack.
A trip to Germany it's something I've been thinking about, but I'll wait until the company I work for requires me to be there for that.
  5. I've not tested it yet. Me and others from the Camry Spanish Club are planning to do so, but the earliest date is by April.
  6. Pricing: 350€ + shipping costs. Not very affordable if you take into account it won't be a small package. Roughly, around 600-700 eur.

Can you give contact information for guys in Germany to ask directly?
I've never reached the employee in Germany: I made all arrangements with the company owner in Ukraine

Phone: +38-093-00-135-00

FYI, not JBL badge in my headunit.
Not a problem. Sergey told me they can flash all the unit (JBL and standard) but, anyway, he will request you the unit information to confirm it's possible or not.
Fastest way to get in touch is via Facebook messenger. Never took more than 2-3h to get a response and in most cases I got an answer almost immediately.
