I have 2009 Toyota Matrix which has door ajar light stays on, therefore the dome lights do does not turn off and I can not use the keyfeb to lock the door but I can unlock it. As a result my BCM stays on and battery drains and requires recharge every few days if I did not move the vehice.

Is the switch being depressed all the way by the door. One door or all of them show the same problem. Your Matrix doesn't have a switch on the dome light like this Matrix one? Site says 2009-2010 Matrix.

One cause of this with other makes is the switch in the door handle - you might look into or ask around about that. Toyota shields its door locking mechanisms pretty well, but eventually things get gummed up and/or corroded.

Thanks for reply. The doom light switch as shown in your picture does work properly on all its three positions; OFF, Door, and ON. The issue is the ECU stays on thinking the door is open and drains the battery. I have checked all the doors and locking mechanisms are working fine as well. This issue started when I install aftermarket remote start on it that had a keyfeb. I have taking it back to the same garage that install it and they telling me everything has been removed and back to its original. I have checked all the wiring and nothing was cut they were tab into and at this point do not know where to go with it.
