I jusut want to know how to replace it. I can't seem to remove the speedometer area. I've removed 3 screws 2 on top and 1 on the bottom they don't come off though.

Thanks

Don't yank it off

Don't yank it off you'll regret it.
Stick your head underneath the dash (you know where the brake and gas pedal are) and look up.
You wont see it but you have to feel for a solid cable.
The cable is so stiff you can hardly flex it.
this cable goes all the way to your cluster and it is responsible for marking the speed and your mileage.
feel for a tab on the cable.
sqeeze it and pull the cable out. sometimes it help when a friend pulls the cluster while your squeezing to disconnect it.
Its just as hard to get it back in ...GOOD LUCK.
BE VERY GENTLE IT DOES NOT REQUIRE TOO MUCH FORCE.
or disconnect the cable from the trani and push it through the firewall. makes it easy to put in and take out. also remove the steering colum cover 4 screws, remember there they go they are not all the same there ya go I made it easy for ya. oh and it takes 4 194 bulbs. just in case you didn't know (you probably did though) stabbing the cable back in the trani is a true pain in the ass though but yull get it.

And this is why I suggest doing it the way thirdcel told you. You can also do it from the front if you turn the cluster the right way, but I've had mine out so many times, it only takes me like 10 minutes now.
I feel really dumb coz till now i havn't pulled out the speedo cable! I just cant find the damn thing!
After you pull out the wiring on the top, you can't miss the speedo cable. It is easier to get from under the dash. Get one of those LED headlamps and you will make things easier. Just be gentle, the plastic clip that holds it won't be too healthy after all these years.

ok when i unscrew all 3 screws (2 on top 1 on bottom) and took out the light dimmer it barely moves? am i missing some mroe screws?
No, I had the same problem with my Terc, the speedo cable had almost no extra length. Go the route of removing the trim panel underneath the steering column and reach up under the dash till you find a 1/4 inch thick and very stiff cable. then follow the cable to the back of the instrument cluster and nicely release the tab holding it on(the one made of no-longer healthy plastic). After that there is the wiring on the back of the cluster and then its free. It takes some wiggling to get out, but nothing too bad.

^that is the best way I've found to get the cluster out, I've had to take mine out more times than I care to remember :headbang: It takes me under 10 minutes now to get mine out :D You can do it too!
