So I went to a DIY garage bay that you rent a lift and such. The guy running the shop set up the lift to raise the car (shop policy). As it turns out, the running boards interfere with the lift posts at the pinch welds, which the guy pointed out that one of the supports was broken away for clearance. The toyota Dealership has mostly been working on my car for servicing. So they must of made clearance for their lift.

Ran into this situation at a shop also, not a lift but they were using floor jacks on the side and informed me they would have to lift from rear and front lift points. Not a huge issue but an issue for some shops

Thank you for noting this. I was thinking of buying a pair. Found the pair below which looks almost identical to the factory ones.
If anyone has cut a section away to add clearance I would like to see what was done before I decide to buy.

Unless you have small children or somebody with mobility issues, I would consider skipping this purchase. The Highlander is a relatively low vehicle with easy ingress and egress.

I read the reviews last night on the one I was looking at and there were a lot of problems with the quality so I will not buy it.
Last time I looked the Toyota one was not available so maybe they realized there is a design flaw.

Hi, Your Running Boards are from the factory or Aftermarket because I lifted mine a few days ago and everything worked...Here is a video that explains these positions as well..

Thank you for taking the time to post the video showing the jacking points for the scissor jack.

Have you taken your vehicle to a garage where they use a commercial lift which has pads on it and if so, did they have problems using the lift?

The original running boards do have clearance. It might not be the issue of the car but likely a different type of lift. Some lifts have larger pads sections. Some come with multiple wedges. If there is an original part installed, I’m sure the dealers will have accommodations for.
