I have a 2000 Toyota solara SLE. It has disc brakes all around. When im driving down the road it sounds like a metal on metal grinding noise, almost as if the brake pads are slightly making contact with the rotor (the sound is coming from the left rear wheel). Also when im turning left or right the noise will stop but will start again as soon as i straighten the car out. It was intermediate at first but now its constant. I always pull the parking/e brake up when i park the car, could the cable not be pulling the pads back all the way? if so why is it happening on one side and not the other? Thanks in advance!

Well I think you're going to have to pull the wheel and see what you can see. It could be just a stone caught in the rotor, or a dragging piston or emerg brake.

No one can know without being there.

Sounds like could be your pads are down to the wear indicator. Best is to pull the wheel off and check pad thickness. Driver side brakes tend to wear a tad bit faster since most people brake while making right turns.
