Water Leak. Incredible but here is another car with the same issue and Toyota is doing nothing about it. Our car has never been on an accident and we have not alter any parts on it. Hopefully NHTSA do something about this soon. The truck has only 39,000 miles and it has mold all over and water keeps coming in. Toyota said that its not covered under warranty when they know is a known issue. If anyone has information about this please let me know.

If the water keeps coming in, take action to make it stop! You're probably talking about the leak around the third brake light (a/k/a center high mount stop lamp or CHMSL). To stop the leak, it's a matter of removing the light and replacing the gasket around it. Have a Toyota dealer do it right - don't do a "DIY" with some caulk, as Toyota definitely will turn you away from any claims for modifying it.

As for the mess, I have read that Toyota is suddenly not being very helpful. At first they were directing dealers to strip the interior, clean it, and replace everything that was damaged (headliner, seats, carpet). Lately I've read stories that indicate Toyota isn't going that extra mile anymore, at least not easily. Push them hard through a Toyota dealer and their national customer service center.

The first thing I did when I got my 17 was change out the 3rd brake light with led, it came with another gasket, and I added clear silicone around it and around the light, 50k miles, not a drop of water. Good luck getting it taken care of. If you're handy and they don't make good on it, do it yourself , it's easy as pie , and with the clear silicone around the gasket and the light , it won't leak for years and years.
