Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2003 Help

Hey I was wondering what is the biggest sized tire I can put on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 4cyl. The stock tires as you may know are P265/70/16.

I talked my co-workers husband who knows his shit about cars and told me that I can put 31's on it as long as I keep it @ 16. He also told me to not raise the truck because I dont offroad so there's no point and plus it will wear out the truck a lot faster.

I also read online that you should never put LT scaled tires with P scaled tires.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Im NOT going to raise it but I want big bulky tires that will make it look fruckin mean!

Just install 265-75 x 16 MTs...........no rubbing with stock suspension. Don't think you can go any bigger diameter without a lift kit!
Since it got the best of me I just went to check the tire size on my Tacoma. Its an 01 prerunner stepside I got about 3 weeks ago it has 275/70/16's. Which from appearance I am going to have to replace at least 2 of them soon I will probably go down to the 265s I have no rubbing and everything is bone stock.

I recommend the BFG mud terrains I have a set of 35's on my 88 runner and the thread life on them is still 75% with about 30k on them. I also have a set of 35 BFG A/T that were on my 85 I say they both have equal wear to them verse the life wear on the same model tires from the late 80's to early 90's.
Uhh... I hope you know that if you do the math with the metric tire size, it comes out to just under 31 in., so you're not really gaining anything.

here it is:
you take 265 x .70 <---that will be the hight of the sidewall in millimeters. And that gives you 185.5mm. Multiply that by 2, because there or 2 sides of the tire on either side of the rim = 371 mm. Multiply that by 0.03937 to convert to inches = 14.60627 and add to the 16 inch rim, and you get a total tire diameter of 30.60 inches.
^^^haha...serious...my question in regards to this is....im looking for something for snow and regular highway with aggressive tread.......right now i have the bfg a.t.'s on my 03 prerunner....(stock tires on 16" axis regulator rims)....what do you guys suggest???

Arent 31x15.50's usually 15" tires?

But yeah get the 265/75/16's. I've seen BFG A/T's go 75k. And they're good on the highway. If going for a more aggressive tire the goodyear MT/R's are nice.
