Toyota is the official automotive sponsor of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field, and so to congratulate the team on its World Series Championship today at the parade, a 10-foot-tall replica of the World Series trophy will be carried in the bed of a 2017 Toyota Tundra.

Toyota will also have another Tundra in the parade to carry the official mascot of the Cubs, Clark, who will be waving to fans along the parade route from the bed of the half-ton Tundra. Toyota also says there will be a RAV4 wrapped in Cubs logo that will also take part in the parade.

Toyota and the Cubs announced a long-term “Legacy Partnership” where Toyota will be the Official Vehicle of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field beginning in the 2016 season. Keys to the partnership include Toyota’s logo being featured on the panel beneath the Wrigley Field Marquee at the corner of Clark and Addison streets. Toyota is also the presenting sponsor of in-game manager challenges and umpire review, and they receive in-game rotational signage behind home plate and on the left field video board. The logo is also featured on field-level signage and Toyota vehicle names are affixed to Wrigley Field parking lots.

“Cubs win, Cubs win, Cubs win” – enjoy the parade today, Chicago!

Toyota, the official automotive sponsor of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field, carried a replica of the Cubs World Series trophy today in the bed of a 2017 Tundra during a victory parade in Chicago which attracted millions of fans.

As the pickup hauled a ten-foot-tall copy of the trophy, another 2017 Tundra carried Clark, the official mascot of the Cubs, who waved to fans along the parade route. A RAV4, featuring an exclusive Cubs wrap, rounded out the lineup.

Chicago’s Office of Emergency Management and Communication estimated attendance at 5 million, surpassing the crowd of 2 million that showed up for the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup celebration in 2013, according to abc7chicago.com.

Last year, the Cubs and Toyota announced a long-term Legacy Partnership establishing Toyota as the Official Vehicle of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field beginning in the 2016 season.

As part of the extended partnership, Toyota’s logo is prominently featured on the panel beneath the Wrigley Field Marquee at the corner of Clark and Addison streets. In addition, Toyota is the presenting sponsor of in-game manager challenges and umpire reviews. Also, they receive in-game rotational signage behind home plate and on the left field video board. The logo is also featured on field-level signage and Toyota vehicle names are affixed to Wrigley Field parking lots.
I suppose zythr had a reason to celebrate even if the Indians lost this year...but then, all that Toyota sponsorship money paid off after 108 years and Toyota is loving the signage

You betcha:smile:

I was glad the Cubs won. They definitely deserved it, doing to the Indians what the Cavs did to Golden State. Toyota being a sponsor, especially in one of the largest cities in the US, is icing on the cake:thumbsup:

None of that sponsorship for the Dodgers ever helped us here in LA (been quite a few years since Toyota sponsored them) :frown: It did for the Lakers and Kings.

Dodgers had their chance, unfortunately it did not work out. You probably mean the Lakers in their heyday? I could see it benefiting the Kings, though.
Toyota still sponsors the Lakers to this day, as well as the Kings. I would see Toyotas around town with a Kings and Toyota frame, which were nice giveaways, but I don't follow hockey. They also sponsor the Cubbies' South Side rivals, the White Sox too, but not to the extent of the Cubs where they were able to name the Wrigley parking lots after the cars themselves.

The company sponsors a lot of other teams obviously, IIRC, the Jets were one of their prominent football team sponsorships, and Lexus themselves do their own (like the LA Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks) just to name a few.

Don't forget about the big place in Houston

and in Chicago itself:

Of course with the Cubbies winning, what sponsor wouldn't want to capitalize on a historic feat. Toyota pulled a smart move on doing the sponsorship starting from the beginning of the season.

Yes they did. Toyota has been smart with their sports sponsorship agreements. A win win for the Cubs and Toyota:smile:
