could not put it any simpler than that
could not put it any simpler than thatNaturally, the consensus involved repeated pleas for something lightweight, rear-wheel-drive, a DOHC four-cylinder that trades big power for responsiveness, and a chassis and engine that's designed for modification.
In preparation for a meeting with Toyota's engineer, Miwa [the Club4AG site's founder, Moto Miwa] asked the Club4AG crew with what they want the new coupe to come equipped. Naturally, the consensus involved repeated pleas for something lightweight, rear-wheel-drive, a DOHC four-cylinder that trades big power for responsiveness, and a chassis and engine that's designed for modification.
Is that engineer representing Toyota or just going to meet Miwa on his own? And, I got the impression it is Miwa who contacted the unnamed engineer and set up the meeting, not the other way around. But it is Toyota that is speaking with the site's founder.

wow, someone sounded bitter. Sounds like Toyota owes you somethingLike I have said in other threads on this forum, Toyota does not have the balls to design a sports coupe and put it to market. We have been hearing this BS for over 2 years now and they are now just getting input. They have no idea what the public wants.
Toyota, the public wants sports coupes not more trucks, suv's, crossovers, and sedan's in every size. Instead of a sport coupe they gave us the venza at this years auto show...moorons...
Grow a pair and give the public what they want.
As far as I am concerned my CIVIC SI is treating me very well at this point. Toyota, you lost a customer who has been buying your cars for 25 years..see ya..you butes..
I think the fact the Toyota sells as many (boring, as you would call them) cars as it does is evidence enough that the North American public is NOT screaming for a sports coupe. Or put it another way, only a very small public is asking Toyota for a sports coupe. The few customers they lose because Toyota does not have a sporty coupe is likely not enough for Toyota to worry much about.Like I have said in other threads on this forum, Toyota does not have the balls to design a sports coupe and put it to market. I am sure that Toyota has done the market research that proves to them that the Venza crossover would sell much, much more than a sporty coupe.
mmhmm. I can't remember which year it was said (2005?). For every person Toyota loses, it gains 6 new customers.I think the fact the Toyota sells as many (boring, as you would call them) cars as it does is evidence enough that the North American public is NOT screaming for a sports coupe. Don't know but Toyota Canada is having a great year and with the new price reduction, and great financing/lease rates (0.9% and 1.9%), this first quarter profit should be great!Still applies??
