So for new Camry, you get 1st 2 years free.

I bought the maintenance plan year 3,4 and 5 for $825. I think that was a steal.

Anyone else got this ?

So please correct me if I'm wrong, this means I can take it in to the dealer when my schedule maintenance comes up at every 5K miles and everything is free, right ? No charge for labor, no charge for parts. Right ?

1st Oil change is not scheduled until 10K miles, do you think I can pay to have it done at 5K ? and ofcourse get oil change done for free at its scheduled of 10K miles ?

Please advise. Thx.

Oh and on Roadside Assistance, has anyone used this service ? How does it work, you're out of battery, you call them and they come and give you a jump ? How long to wait ?

And has anyone test pushing that SOS button ? Should you test it to make sure it works ?

Thx and sorry for too many questions.

Yes, my understanding of the 2 year free maintenance plan is for all scheduled maintenance service in the maintenance booklet from Toyota including parts.
Depending on how much mileage you do per year, you can look at the maintenance booklet and figure how many times you'd have to go in the following 3 years after the first 2 given by the dealer. With my mileage, it would come out to around $200 per service, which is about what it's worth anyway.
Roadside assistance depends on who the closest dealer is and where you are. For me, in New York, there are quite a few dealers so probably not too long a wait for a service truck to show up. Probably an hour or two at the most. Now if you get stuck in the middle of nowhere, say somewhere in Vermont mountain roads or somewhere in the Montana plains, it could be a long wait. :disappoin
I think that SOS button is a subscription service device. You should just press it and tell the operator you're testing it. I did that in my Mercedes once and the operator was very nice and told me all about what he could do for me. He must have been bored :naughty:

Yes, I purchased the same plan but paid $900. Considering it was only for years 3, 4, and 5, I decided to cancel. There is no way the service when due, will cost me $300/yr. Probably won't even need more than two oil changes in those three years. I can rotate my own tires.

As far as roadside assistance that might be worth it. Although my insurance company provides towing.

Nothing wrong with purchasing the plan though. It does provide peace of mind. I did get the Toyota extended warranty for 8 yrs/70,000 miles for $800. My wife does not drive over 7,000 miles a year.

Enjoy your new vehicle.

As I mentioned I purchased the prepaid maintenance from the dealer for $900, but cancelled. I then re-purchased it from Jerry at Midwest Toyota for $675. A lot better deal--he says people cancel and re-purchase all the time because most dealers are over priced.
