Ok a little back story on my corolla. I just picked up a 2009 le corolla with 30000 miles. The only problem with the car is the tpms light wont go out. I tried filling al the tires at 30psi. And then I turned the ignition to the on position and pressed the reset button. I then left the ignition in the on position for about three minutes turned it to the off position. and then started the car and the light is still on. The light blinks for about a minute and then stays on.From what I have read when the light blinks the sensor is looking to talk to something. The owner had put on two new tires and was not sure sure why the light went on. I am new to this sensor stuff for the tires. Is there a test to isolate which tire is the culprit?

Thanks

Jerry

The problem is when it blinks, there is a bad sensor. Most likely the tire tech broke a sensor when installing a tire onto the rim. To find out which is bad, you'll have to take the car to a tire store that can deal with sensor replacements. A scan tool is require to test each sensor for it's transmitter is working or not.

Dealer is the most expensive way to go. But, 80% of other tire shops should be able to do the test. Something like a small time hole in the wall Mom & Pop shop wouldn't have the tool for it.

Discount Tire is a great place for this too.

My Corolla will show the pressure warning light at 30PSI. 32 seems to be the lowest pressure to keep the light off.

I found that putting 35PSI in the front tires greatly improved the notorious Corolla numb steering feel on the highway. More than 35 makes the ride much more bumpy.

Sounds like you need to reset your low warning pressure level.

To the other poster... Discount Tire IS the great place to do TPMS. I had to do 4 of mine on my 07 TCH. Les Schwab quoted me close to $400. Yes. DT did it for around $68 and in about 20 minutes. ALL FOUR.
They have little sensor that they bring close to tire where TPMS is and it tells them how low battery is.
