Searched around and couldn't find anything on this. Last night I noticed a small puddle (about silver dollar size) of red colored oil from under the front of my '08 Highlander. I looked underneath and noticed a drip coming off the pipe right next to the oil pan. I took it into the dealer this morning. They found that a transfer case seal was leaking. They said there was a TSB out there and luckily it was covered under warranty until 60K (I'm at 58.5K). He said there is over 10 hours of labor into changing it. I don't have a copy of the TSB or my work order because he is leaving it open in case I happen to put over 1500 miles on before they get the part.

I was just curious if anyone else had run into this and also wanted to give a heads up of something to check before it's too late.

Do you know if this covers the 2008 model only, or other years as well?

My 2009 RX350 had the same issue, it affects I assume anything AWD with the same engine, trans issue. My started leaking at 9k and was a big job to fix (nothing you want to have to pay for out of pocket for sure!)

All the parts are in and I'm taking the vehicle in tonight. I assume they will start tomorrow and finish up on Monday. I'll try to get a copy of the TSB and any other info I can.
