Transmission dipstick

I was changing my oil a week ago and was looking around the engine compartment. I can't seem to find the transmission diptstick. My truck is an sr5(without the tow package). I am planing on adding an aftermarket transmission oil cooler and need a place to add more fluid and monitor if I'm running low. Thanks

Im not sure about the Tacoma but I know several new cars dont have transmission dipsticks.
niether does yours!
LOL...and people said I was a jerk for telling them to do a search.
To answer your question, there isnt a dipstick. The tranny has a check plug.
I guess they figure that almost nobody ever check their tranny fluid level anyways, so why give them a dipstick?
thats awesome

Dipstick

Now I'm in a bind! I drained my transmission fluid prior to noticing that I didn't have a convenient place to add transmission fluid. I'm changing my 05 Taco fluid to Synthetic. Now I ask...how can I replace my fluid???
UMMM. I really hope you have a manual tranny. If its the 5 speed auto your stuck with the toyota type WS ATF. But since your looking for a dip stick I assume you have the auto.

If you have the 4 speed auto that come with the 4 cyl, not sure what type ATF it uses. On the 5 speed auto there is a 24mm socket for filling it but its quite a process.....

wow that was pretty silly. Keep looking for a place to add the fliud. There has to be a location.

we have a 98 VW gti with an auto and no Dipstick. It has a nub on top with a metal cab on it. Look for that on your truck too. There HAS to be a location to add.
